Case Study
HealthPartners recognized the need to create a more cohesive and modern website, which had previously been built on years of updates to legacy code and design, and had no cohesive source of truth for content, design or development.
To move forward, HealthPartners needed a Design System to allow the teams to create a consistent and meaningful experience across all digital properties. This ambitious project required both cross-functional collaboration across design, development, business and product teams, as well as thoughtful and organized UX leadership and contribution.
For this effort, I was brought on as a UX Designer to identify, categorize and create an intuitive and expandable design system as part of the large-scale UX strategy.
The Process
Working collaboratively with a cross-functional team (consisting of Product Managers, Engineers, UX Design Leads, Business Stakeholders and Development Teams), I worked to identify and document existing patterns as well as integrate new patterns into the complex Design System.
I established and contributed to the initial Design Systems library, identified usability issues (small and large) within the global redesign, conducted a comprehensive global multi-property content audit and created wireframes and prototypes as well as mentored junior design team members.

My Role: Senior UX Designer
HealthPartners hired me on to work on their initial Design System: a single source of truth to identify and establish a language and process around delivering the best user experience for their users.
Additionally, I worked with and thought through each aspect of the Member Services portal experiences for the global HealthPartners redesign project, including UX Research, Wireframes, User Flows and Strategy.
I provided everything from UX Lead guidance on best practices to thorough documentation, wireframes and ongoing maintenance as the project grew from initial inception to a more robust and thoughtful structure.

Results
Initial deliverables (including content audits, documentation, wireframes and sitemaps) were handed off to the development and content team for successful implementation, which is now live on the public site.
